My app just received the following error when trying to set a target temperature, per a user’s settings:
Cannot change target temperature during energy-saving events
Interestingly, there’s no listing for this error in the error-messages page to which it links. Instead, there’s only an entry for “Cannot change HVAC mode during energy-saving events.” Is that just an oversight?
It does seem that users are allowed to override the program on the thermostat itself (https://nest.com/support/article/What-happens-during-a-Summer-or-Winter-Rush-Hour). Is that also an option in the API (so my app can do so, if the users chooses)?
If not, are the peak_period_start_time and peak_period_end_time values only set in the Structure if there’s an active energy-savings event taking place? I’d need to know so I can prevent sending a temperature or HVAC mode change if it’s going to throw an error.
